West of Boscastle nestles Rocky Valley, which within a few hundred metres changes from a sheltered woodland to a deeply incised rocky gorge which suddenly opens out to the sea.
From the prominent headland of The Rumps you can look back up the coast to Tintagel Island. Pentire Point overlooks the mouth of the Camel estuary.
