The Cornwall AONB Partnership
The cornwall aonb partnership was formed in october 2002 in response to the government's renewed commitment to the management of areas of outstanding natural beauty following the countryside and rights of way act 2000.
The Partnership was formally endorsed (with a signing of a Memorandum of Agreement) in March 2003. An independent Chairman, Peter Mansfield, was appointed at the same time.
Following the reorganisation of local government in Cornwall in April 2009, a new Partnership has been agreed and formed. The Partnership is now made up of the following organisations, representative of the funding partners and those organisations with an interest in the management of the landscape:
Natural England
Cornwall Council (including. Cornwall Development Company (VisitCornwall, Cornwall Agri-Food Council and Low Carbon Cornwall))
National Trust
Environment Agency
English Heritage
National Farmers Union
Country Land and Business Association
Cornwall Association of Local Councils
Cornwall Wildlife Trust
Cornwall Sustainable Tourism Project (CoaST)
Farming & Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG)
Rural Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Partnership (RCP)
Cornwall Rural Community Council
The Partnership meets three times a year to improve the co-ordinated management of the AONB landscape, through effective joint working. Its primary puropse is, of course, to implement the managment plan. As part of these meetings, the Partnership visits sites in the AONB to discuss issues with landowners and community members.
The Cornwall AONB Partnership Manager, Colette Holden, gave a presentation on the Cornwall AONB to Cornwall Councillors following their Full Council meeting on 30 March 2010. View the slides from the presentation.
