Cornwall Wildlife Trust and Devon Wildlife Trust jointly manage the Marsland Valley Nature Reserve, which can be accessed from the Cornwall side of the valley at Gooseham Mill or from the entrance to the north of Marsland Manor. The whole of the coastal strip in this part of the AONB is designated as a European candidate Special Area of Conservation.
