Funding

Cornwall AONB Sustainable Development fund (SDF)

The Cornwall AONB Partnership runs an annual Sustainable Development Fund (SDF) grants programme for projects that contribute to sustainable living or sustainable change, within or that benefit the Cornwall AONB. Funding for these grants is provided by Natural England, and they are administered by the Cornwall AONB Unit and Cornwall County Council.

All Protected Landscapes in the South West now operate Sustainable Development Funds and the South West Protected Landscape Forum (SWPLF) which is the umbrella body for the 12 AONBs and 2 National Parks in the South West, has produced a showcase video of 4 projects in the South West that received SDF money in 2007/08. Gorran Eco-Schools Project, one of the Cornwall SDF projects is 1 of the 4 projects included in the video. Major funding sources

As with the rest of Cornwall, major funding for large or landscape scale projects in the Cornwall AONB in recent years has come via European, National, and Regional schemes. In addition significant contributions of match funding have been provided by Cornwall County Council and all the other Local Authorities (usually as core funding rather than through advertised grant schemes).
